This two-day programme provides a practical introduction to Lean thinking and continuous improvement for manufacturing and operational environments. Participants will learn how to identify waste, optimise processes, and plan small improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and performance.

This course is designed for supervisors, engineers, team leaders and operators in manufacturing or operational environments who seek a practical introduction to Lean and continuous improvement techniques without committing to a full Green Belt programme.

Lean Fundamentals

  • Lean principles and philosophy
  • Identifying types of waste in processes
  • Value stream mapping
  • Basic problem-solving tools
  • Workplace organisation and 5S methodology

Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma Introduction

  • Introduction to Six Sigma and DMAIC methodology
  • Basic metrics for process improvement
  • Selecting, scoping, and planning improvement projects
  • Techniques for sustaining gains and continuous monitoring

At the end of this course, delegates will be able to:

  • Understand the principles of Lean thinking and waste reduction
  • Map processes and identify non-value-adding activities
  • Apply basic problem-solving tools and workplace organisation techniques (5S)
  • Plan and scope small improvement projects within their area of responsibility
