The 5W1H Training Model

The 5W1HTraining Model

1. Why should an organisation invest in staff development

Many organisations go through change in their structure, staff and development. To keep up with the ever changing demands of their customers, organisations need to continue to develop their staff to maintain a competitive advantage. It’s not just about improving the company, it’s about respecting employees and making sure they are progressing too. In a recent survey 30% of employees who receive poor job training leave their positions within the first year.

2. What competence do staff need when change does come about?

Management teams at an organisation should be able to objectively look at their staff and see where they are currently at in terms of skills and where they should be in the future.

Competency is the knowledge, skills, behaviours and qualifications that enable a person to perform a job role to the required standard. Completing a Competency Matrix for staff members will allow a company to identify gaps and decide what training is needed.

3. Where should training take place?

The answer to this question is quite simply; “It Depends”. It depends on factors such as where your staff are in terms of development and whether you prefer in-house or open public courses.

Here at LMC, we deliver open public courses and offer in-house customised training courses across many locations around the world, including Doha, Bahrain, Dubai, Kuwait and here at our headquarters in London.

4. What should you expect as a Return on Investment?

Delegates are given a chance to develop skills that can be transferred within their job roles. The courses we offer are presented by our world class teachers, we maintain very high standards across the board, this means that wherever you decide to attend our courses at, the service and overall package will always be at London Management Centre standard.

5. When is the best time to develop your staff?

The best time to develop your staff is right now. Many companies that are not at the top of their field tend to stagnate in development as time progresses. The foundations of a company are essentially the employee's, by granting them specialised training, you will be enabling the company to also grow at an equal pace. Great employees make a great company.
