Building rapport
A process used to increase understanding and communication between two or more individuals or companies. Building rapport is done to more clearly and effectively communicate your needs and wants and to understand in return, the others' needs and wants. It is a mutually beneficial process and brings power, simplicity, effectiveness and enjoyment to an existing relationship. The process involves both parties listening, demonstrating that they have heard and understood by showing empathy, asking questions to clarify detail, focusing on common ground and showing interest by including important factors beyond the immediate topic of debate.
