Determining Exit Strategies

The process of deciding what should and will happen when a key individual decides to leave the company. In companies where individuals have large responsibilities, a poor exit strategy could mean a ceasing of business operations, the liquefying of assets or ownership passing to another's control. Factors for consideration within the exit strategy include: legally differentiating the company and individuals involved, accurately valuing the company, and planning for the departure of key stakeholders.
