Business Cycle
The term given to perceived cycles or fluctuations in periods of growth and decline. The unit of measurement is commonly Gross Domestic Product (GDP). There are many interpretations of the true business cycle, but all can roughly be divided into three groups: consumer/demand based cycles, business based cycles and political based cycles. Understanding business cycles allows financial strategists to plan and prepare for future economic conditions.
