Setting Objectives

A process designed to set out what the business is trying to achieve. Objectives can be set at two levels, the corporate level (concerned with the business or organisation as a whole) and the functional level (specific objectives, for marketing activities for example). Both corporate and functional objectives need to conform to the commonly used SMART criteria: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time Bound.
